Saturday's attire

Another weekend, another 2 year old's party!

I went for a more casual variation on my 'usual' look this weekend:

Tommy Hilfiger 'Hudson' jeans, Red t-shirt, Jack & Jones grey sweatshirt, Baracuta 'Waterloo' boots, Grey socks.

Sunday turned into an indoors day due to our little boy teething and having a horrible cold so I really don't think it's worth keeping a record of today's outfit!

John Malkovich on Graham Norton

Loved John Malkovich's outfit on Graham Norton last night. Denim sports jacket over a wool sweater, jeans with 3" turn-ups and boots.

Sunday's attire

It was our niece's 2nd Birthday on Sunday and for the party I chose the following outfit:

Tommy Hilfiger 'Hudson' jeans, H&M white shirt, Vintage tweed tie, Green V-neck sweater, Harrykson brogues, Green socks.

This was the first time I had tried the tie, shirt and sweater combo and I was really happy with how it looked. I have a feeling this outfit will be getting a lot of use!

White shirt

On Saturday I went looking for a heavyweight cotton, button-down shirt in white and I was happy when I found this one in H&M:

I was even happier when I found out I needed a Medium!

Shirt can be found here

Saturday's attire

For a relaxed Saturday in town, I chose to try out a couple of last weekend's purchases:

Primark black skinny jeans, Jasper Conran denim shirt, Primark cable sweater, Harrykson brogues, Royal blue socks.

School's out....

Here is a picture of my vintage school satchel which I picked up on ebay recently. It is a lovely conker colour and has the original owner's name written inside in very faint felt-tip pen. I'm planning on making a pseudo-vintage name label for this soon (possibly a WW2 evacuation style one?) My only niggle with it is the 100cm strap, which is a little short for me to wear across the chest so I tend to keep it over one shoulder and hope it doesn't look like a handbag!

Haircut sir?

Just got back from having my hair cut and coloured with the lovely Kirsty Pearce at Eleven in Banbury. The colour is 'Milkshake Frosted Pearl' and looks the business, as does the cut (as always!)

Thank you Kirsty and the team!

Sunday's attire

Went shopping to Oxford today and for this occasion, I chose:

Tommy Hilfiger 'Hudson' jeans, 'Breton' style long-sleeved T-shirt, Jasper Conran denim shirt, Farah CPO overshirt, Baracuta 'Waterloo' boots, Purple socks.

I know this is a very similar look to last weekend, but I wanted some trusty comrades on my first venture into 'double denim'. Thankfully they didn't disappoint!

During the shopping trip, I picked up a cream cable sweater and some skinny fit black jeans in Primark. I did try on a tweed waistcoat, but my two year old little boy gave it a firm 'no' and who am I to ignore advice like that?

Cable sweater

I tried on a blue cable sweater from Frederick Anderson - Copenhagen in TK Maxx today, but I wasn't sure about the colour. It was a mid-indigo and when I had it on, I thought I wanted something in a more neutral colour, but now I'm thinking I might go back try on the orange one. I have seen a grey one and a cream one in lambswool for only a pound more so they might need a try on too...

This weekend's attire....

Saturday was our little boy's 2nd Birthday party and for this event I wore:

Tommy Hilfiger 'Hudson' jeans, my newly acquired 'Breton' style long-sleeved T-shirt, Farah CPO overshirt, Baracuta 'Waterloo' boots.

It was weird wearing such a snugly fitted top after so many years of wearing baggy ones. The drop in weight has certainly given me the confidence to try out more things and I'm glad I did as the comments I received were very positive!

Sunday was a lazy day with the family and I went for:

The trusted Tommy Hilfer 'Hudson' jeans again, a petrel blue striped shirt, and John White loafers with orange socks:

Well I guess I should try it out

“I think if human beings had genuine courage, they'd wear their costumes every day of the year, not just on Halloween. Wouldn't life be more interesting that way? And now that I think about it, why the heck don't they? Who made the rule that everybody has to dress like sheep 364 days of the year? Think of all the people you'd meet if they were in costume every day. People would be so much easier to talk to - like talking to dogs. ”
